Door Greeters
One of the first faces members and guests see when they walk through the front door of the Society are the smiling, cheerful greeters. It is this hard working group that helps keep our doors open.

Have you been a member for over three months, do you have a great personality, and if so would you like to join our small group of "Society Greeters'? If so, please contact me, LordSlaveElijah, via a PM here on FetLife, or at chiefgatekeeper@thesocietyct.org. Or better still, just walk up and speak to me at the space, I don't bite. Unless you ask nicely that is.

Or if you know someone who might be good on the door, feel free to give me their name.

Come be a part of the "Society Greeters"!

LordSlaveElijah aka Elijah

January Town Meeting
Reminder to all that January's Town Hall Meeting will take place on January 20th at 8:00 PM.

This is due to QI invasion being held during the second weekend of the month and on the day we would have normally had the Town Meeting.

There was some discussion on having it earlier on the 6th, however the Calendar posting lists on the 20th and that is the day the Town Meeting will be held.

During that town meeting we will be voting for a new ombudsman. Those who have accepted their nominations are:

Lady Ellen

NEWS FLASH: Snow Closes the Society
Saturday, December 9th, the Society will be closed.

The mayor of Hartford has issued a parking ban for tomorrow so there will be limited places to park, and we have no one available to be a door person as they are not able to make it to the Society safely in the snow.

Tomorrow night was the scheduled Town Meeting. With the closing the meeting will be postponed one week and we will have it on Saturday, December 16 starting at 6 PM.

We will make it a dinner meeting, to add to the Christmas Party Festivities. It will be a potluck dinner, so please ring something to share, but the Society will be providing pizza for the meeting as well.

Any Questions, Please reach out to a Board member, or our Events Chair.

F0rbidden will be missed. Our support and love goes to Wardancer and their family.

S-A-M and Ali are having a memorial at their place on Saturday for Bidden.

This of course is in conflict scheduling wise with our Town Meeting. We have been asked whether the Meeting will be rescheduled and we have looked into the scheduling.

With Little's Invasion happening on the 17th and the 24th being only one week before the new board sits and needing to give time for online voting there is not enough time.

Therefore; We are keeping the town meeting on the 10th as planned.

Elections will proceed as planned, with voting taking place online.
We will have computers at the Society on Saturday for those wanting to place their vote. We will leave the election open online until Saturday the 17th at 6PM. At that time we will close the voting and announce the winners. This way people who were not at the town meeting will still get a chance to vote.

In Recognition of Bidden and the drive to raise funds to help her family, we will have a Donation jar at the Front Desk of the Society, this Friday and Saturday.
